About ACT - The Company ACT Composite Timbers, Inc. is a privately held corporation with administrative offices in Commack, New York. ACT is a successor company to those founded by plastic lumber industry veteran Anthony Noto, one of the original entrepreneurs who advocated the use of reinforced plastic technology to significantly strengthen and substantially increase the durability of plastic lumber. Tragically Anthony Noto passed away in early 2009. The design concept for ACT Composite Timbers (ACT) began in the late 1980's under the direction of Tony Noto and his chief technical engineer. ACT continues their accomplishments in product development and project design with fiber-reinforced plastic lumber. Their expertise in designing with this composite material is unparalleled within the industry. From manufacture to design to construction, ACT is able to support both the A/E and contractor to ensure the product is both engineered and installed properly. ACT also provides process technology expertise and can oversee and administer a turn-key startup operation for those interested in manufacturing composite timbers through a licensing arrangement. About ACT - The Product ACT Composite Timber (ACT) is a strong, durable alternative to treated lumber. ACT has been engineered for use in boardwalks, docks, seawalls and many other applications. Unlike wood, ACT will not rot, degrade or suffer attack from marine borers and is therefore ideally suited for the marine environment. Over its useful life, ACT is a financially viable alternative to conventional decking and outdoor lumber uses. ACT combines the durability of plastic and the strength of fiberglass to produce a superior product. Where service life and low maintenance are the primary considerations in material selection, ACT is the best value. |
